About us
9. December 2009
In the middle of a financial crisis and shortly before a natural catastrophe, two fair maidens sold all their sparkling shoes and waved farewell to their sheltered lives on a little volcanic island in the North Atlantic ocean. With a one way ticket to Nepal in one hand and a paraglider in the other their Da-Vincian adventure began.
We want to find out how pursuing our dreams will affect us. We have the freedom to do it and we want to promote women’s right to freedom everywhere. That is how the freedom of flight has affected us, hence: The Flying Effect.
We sold all our earthly belongings (books, furniture, clothes, household items) and gave what didn’t sell to charity. We only kept a few personal items, enough to fit in a couple of boxes. And then, with a budget to cover six months of travelling through Asia we set off on a two year round the world trip. To see how that turns out you have to read the blog!
We’re not daily bloggers but we update our Facebook page more regularly and post lots of photos and videos. On this blog we also post profiles (interviews) of women we connect with along the way, other travelling pilots as well as local women.
Hopefully you will enjoy the adventure with us and maybe even meet us somewhere along the way.
Lucky lifts!
